John received his B.S. degree with honors in 1981 from the University of Michigan in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in electronic circuits. He received his M.S. degree in 1983 from the University of Michigan in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in solid state devices.

During his engineering career, John worked on a variety of research, development and production projects in both California and Michigan. His experiences range from infrared sensor semiconductor fabrication to electrical system engineering for main battle tanks and from cryogenic vacuum testing to embedded diagnostic design.

John is the named inventor for U.S. Patent number 4,803,422. John became a registered Patent Agent in 1993. He then received his J.D. degree in 1998 from Wayne State University. John is licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan and is a registered Patent Attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

His law career includes working at a national patent law firm prosecuting patents for Fortune 500 clients nationally. His casework covers areas of electrical and electronic arts, including data storage, computer components, automotive electronics, and Internet/network related inventions.
